The Ask: Free State Brewery in Lawrence, Kansas was gearing up to bottle its flagship beers — Wheat State Golden, Copperhead Pale Ale, Ad Astra Ale, and Oatmeal Stout — and needed a visual identity as memorable as the brews themselves.

My Role: In collaboration with local illustrator Brad Sneed and a clever copywriter, I helped turn his artwork into a full-on brand experience, transforming illustrations into everything from beer labels and caps to tap handles, coasters, posters, stickers, and metal signage. The result was a cohesive visual story that gave each beer its own personality — “Because without beer, things do not seem to go as well.”
